Submission rules
Anyone can submit a game without an account. An editor reviews every submission before it appears. These are the rules they apply.
What can be listed
- A real, playable game with an official link: the developer's or publisher's own website, or the game's page in a store.
- Browser games, mobile apps, desktop and console games are all welcome. Games made with or without AI are treated alike.
- Demos and games in early access are fine when the page says so.
What is not listed
- Re-uploads, mirrors, cracked or modified copies, and pages that are not the game's official source.
- Links that mainly exist to collect clicks: aggregators, link shorteners, pages wrapped in someone else's advertising.
- Malware, deceptive downloads, gambling for real money, and content that is illegal or unsafe to list.
- Sexual content, and anything else not suited to a catalogue used by children from the age of 8.
- Trailers, announcements and store wish-list pages without a playable game.
One game, one page
A game gets a single page even when it has a website, mobile apps and several store pages: those become launch options on the same page. An ordinary update does not make a new page. Sequels and substantially different games get their own.
The same link, or the same store identifier on a platform, cannot be listed twice, pending submissions included. Advertising parameters are removed from links; parameters that select the page or the game are kept. A link that was declined or removed does not come back automatically.
Facts, not guesses
- Fill in what you know and leave the rest at “Not specified”.
- Tick a platform only if you have seen the game work there. An Android app does not show that a game runs in a mobile browser.
- Don't invent a version number. If you don't know it, leave it empty.
- An age label is recorded only with its source. From a submitter that means the developer's own statement.
- Advertising, purchases, registration and price on external sites are stated separately. HeapPlay's promise of free play without registration covers only games marked “Play here”.
After you submit
- You get a private link showing the status. Through it you can ask for a change or for removal.
- An editor may edit the details, approve the game, or decline it with a reason.
- Submitting a game does not make you the manager of its page. HeapPlay reading a page's details does not establish who may manage it. Developers verify their connection separately; see for developers.
Limits
To keep the queue workable, one network can send up to 8 submissions an hour and 25 a day, and up to 6 reports an hour.
Removal
If you own a game and want its page changed or removed, use “Report a problem with this page” on that page, or the contact page. The owner decides removal requests personally.
