- Checked in headless Chromium (Playwright) on an Apple M1: a scripted bot played level 2 from the wreck to the win and level 1 to the Hunter's fall; the brood mother, the lift's hold and the way from level 1 to 2 in tests; mouse, keyboard, two players, sound. Not checked in Firefox or Safari.

- 0.6.0 · updated 24 Oct 2026
What changed
- 0.6.0 · 24 Oct 2026 Level 2, The Hive: after the helipad, a stormy mountain, a mining camp, an old mine and a hive. Smarter creatures (drones that dodge and flank, burrowers, bombardiers, the armoured brood mother) and new weapons: an arc thrower, a disc launcher and a Hunter's plasma caster. The station's blast door now says why it stays shut.
- 0.5.0 · 20 Oct 2026 A new look and sound for the research station and the crashed ship: detailed steel walls, consoles and machines, flickering lamps, steam and sparks, a ship of ribs and tubes. Shiny surfaces, colours for each place, new gunshots, footsteps, creatures, echoes and music that follows the fight. Music and effects have their own volume.
- 0.4.0 · 18 Oct 2026 Phones and tablets now use fixed controls held sideways. Mouse, touchpad and keyboard play are unchanged.
- 0.3.2 · 18 Oct 2026 A game pad gets help with aiming: near a creature the view slows and is drawn gently onto it. Mouse and touchpad aiming are unchanged (no help).
- 0.3.1 · 18 Oct 2026 No change on computers; phones that are controllers stop at once when a thumb lifts.
- 0.3.0 · 18 Oct 2026 A game pad's right stick now looks up and down too. Mouse and touchpad aiming as in 0.2.0.
- 0.2.0 · 18 Oct 2026 Aim with a mouse or a touchpad: look up and down as well as round, from the first move; a click captures the pointer. Two-finger scrolling on a touchpad no longer flicks through the weapons.
- 0.1.0 · 17 Oct 2026 First release: one level, Operation Kestrel.

- 0.4.0 · 18 Oct 2026 Phone held sideways: a fixed MOVE ring on the left and a fixed AIM ring on the right, with FIRE, RELOAD, USE, GRENADE and WEAPON in the lower right corner. Nothing moves or slides off the screen; held upright, the game holds and asks for the phone to be turned.
- 0.3.2 · 18 Oct 2026 Help with aiming: near a creature the view slows and is drawn gently onto it while you aim, move or fire; dragging away always wins. The cross-hair turns red on a creature.
- 0.3.1 · 18 Oct 2026 No change for a phone played alone; phones that are controllers stop at once when a thumb lifts.
- 0.3.0 · 18 Oct 2026 Dragging on the right side now aims up and down as well as round.
- 0.2.0 · 18 Oct 2026 Touch play is unchanged; on computers, aiming with a mouse or a touchpad was improved.
- 0.1.0 · 17 Oct 2026 First release: one level, Operation Kestrel, with touch controls.

- 0.5.0 · 20 Oct 2026 The station and the crashed ship look and sound new, on the big screen too: steel walls, consoles, flickering lamps, steam, a ship of ribs and tubes, new gunshots, footsteps, creatures heard as they come, and music that follows the fight.
- 0.4.0 · 18 Oct 2026 Phones as controllers are held sideways, with a fixed MOVE ring on the left and a fixed AIM ring on the right, and the buttons in the lower right corner, so the controls never drift off the screen.
- 0.3.2 · 18 Oct 2026 Help with aiming for phones as controllers: near a creature the view slows and is drawn gently onto it while you aim, move or fire, so a thumb a moment behind the picture can stop on it; pushing away always wins. The cross-hair turns red on a creature.
- 0.3.1 · 18 Oct 2026 Letting go of a stick or of FIRE now reaches the screen at once: the view and the player stop when the thumb lifts, not half a second later.
- 0.3.0 · 18 Oct 2026 Phones as controllers get an aim stick: put the right thumb anywhere on the right side, or hold FIRE, and push to turn and to look up and down; letting go stops it.
- 0.2.0 · 18 Oct 2026 Phones as controllers are unchanged; on computers, aiming with a mouse or a touchpad was improved.
- 0.1.0 · 17 Oct 2026 First release: one or two players with phones as controllers; two players get a split screen.
About this game
Acid Jungle is a first-person shooter in the style of the classic corridor games: you see your hands and your weapon as you move through a jungle trail, a ruined camp and a dark research station. Three nights ago something fell from the sky, and the survey team stopped answering. Your team lands to find them.
You start with a pistol. On the way you find an SMG, a pump shotgun, an assault rifle and a minigun, with their ammunition, grenades, first aid kits and body armour. Every weapon is fired and reloaded step by step: magazines drop out and new ones go in, the shotgun is loaded one shell at a time and pumped, an empty pistol's slide locks back.
Acid spiders leave pools of acid where they die, spitters keep their distance, leaping beasts pounce and brood pods hatch more. At the crash site a cloaked Hunter puts three red dots on you before it fires. Defeat it, then run for the helipad before its ship blows up.
Play alone with a keyboard and mouse or with touch controls, or use a television or a computer as a big screen with phones as controllers: the screen shows a QR code, each phone that scans it becomes one player's controller, and with two players the screen is split down the middle. The phones and the screen talk through HeapPlay's relay; nothing is stored.
Two levels: Operation Kestrel in the jungle, then The Hive, in an old mine on the mountain, with smarter creatures, the armoured brood mother, an arc thrower, a disc launcher and a fallen Hunter's plasma caster. Progress is saved in the browser at checkpoints, and no account is needed. The game can be played in English, Spanish (Latin American), Portuguese (Brazilian), French, German, Russian, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, Korean and Arabic.
